Mission Statement

St. Clair Area Transportation (SCAT) aims to offer safe, reliable, efficient, and affordable transportation services to the citizens of St. Clair County in order to help promote a strong economy, conserve energy, and enhance lives with special emphasis towards serving the elderly and disabled. We shall not discriminate against anyone based on his or her disability, national origin, religion, race, color, age, or gender.

About Us

St. Clair County Public Transportation is committed to providing transportation to the citizens of St. Clair County for a minimal fee. We transport individuals to a variety of daily appointments such as kidney dialysis, physical therapy, cancer treatments, shopping, work, or simply to visit with family or friends. Our services are developed primarily through a demand-response basis with the public.

We also contract with the Association for Retarded Citizens (ARC) and the Middle Alabama Area Agency on Aging (M4A). Through our fleet of 15 vehicles, we are continuously expanding our efforts to meet the needs of all regions of St. Clair County. If you are interested in inquiring more about our services or scheduling a ride, please give us a call.

Policies

SCAT has a zero tolerance policy on substance abuse of alcohol and illegal drugs. We operate in a harassment-free environment, and we are an equal opportunity employer. If you have any concerns regarding discrimination in our program, please complete our Title VI Notice of Protection Against Discrimination & Complaint Form (PDF).  If you need to request reasonable modifications based on a disability, please use the Reasonable Modification Form or contact the St. Clair County Public Transportation ADA Coordinator Janet Smith for assistance.
